I am Jenny, and I grew up in Athens, Greece. I pursued my Graphic Design degree in Athens and London. Once I returned, I immediately began working in magazine publishing. As an art director for various fashion publications, I found success and gained valuable experience. Eventually, I moved to the United States to be with my husband, Daryl. Since June 2006, we’ve lived in the greater New York City area. At the moment, we share our time between the USA and Greece.

Cooking has always been a passion of mine, which is why I created The Greek Foodie and Miss Cookalot. Being of Greek descent, I take pride in the flavors of the Mediterranean. There’s nothing I love more than cooking up something delicious for my loved ones to enjoy. My skills are self-taught, passed down from watching my family cook.

Growing up, my biggest culinary inspiration was my mother, Maria, who hailed from the stunning island of Crete.

My summers in Crete were filled with the delicious flavors of Cretan cuisine, fresh vegetables and fruits, olive oil, local cheeses like graviera and myzithra, and freshly caught fish that was either grilled or baked. I have fond memories of enjoying a simple yet satisfying lunch of rusks, juicy tomatoes, mizithra cheese, and olives while perched on an olive tree.

I am excited to share delicious and easy comfort food recipes through this new blog, Miss Cookalot.
